The Carleton University swim team kicked off the season with a relay/dual meet against Ottawa U, at the Carleton pool today. This was not a scored meet, but both the women’s and men’s teams combined to win 18 out of the 28 events.

Top women were Krista Boegel who was 0.72 seconds outside CIS cut in the 50m breaststroke, with a close 2nd to Heather McDonald who was 1.77 seconds outside CIS cut in the 100m breaststroke. For the men, Keegan Harris was 0.71 second outside CIS in the 50m breaststroke. This early in the season, CIS qualifications are not common, but numerous swimmers did make the cut for the OUA championships to be held in February. In total, 10 women and 13 men swam times that qualified them for the championships, with 5 other swimmers just outside the cut.
